-Dragons can come in body styles ranging from western or eastern to drake/wyvern.
-Sizes for each dragon can vary and are up to the player to decide, there is no standard. However, they cannot attain ancient size until they reach that age category, nor can the dragon be large enough to swallow a humanoid whole.
-The dominant color for a dragon must be one from their element pallet; these can be found beneath their names here or in the color pallets in the gallery. Different shades/tints of these colors are allowed. Otherwise, other colors may be included and are welcome in the designs!
-Dragons are customizable with manes/spines/ridges/claws that can be sheathed/spikes/etc.
-The dragons speak telepathically and can also communicate emotions. However, this bond is not fully developed until they reach the young adult stage. Until then communication will be more body language or emotions sent via telepathic bond, especially as a hatchling.
-Bonded dragons have a shorter life span than their wild brethren, for a bonded dragon as a shortened lifespan equal to their riders. A small sacrifice, for the dragon obtains rational intelligence as well as advanced skills with magic.

-To find available dragons to get for your rider, please check the egg area to see what is currently available. Some are free while others you must purchase

Dragons

Egg

The eggs are all fairly large, a foot at the smallest in height and typically ovoid in shape. Each radiates a temperature or has a unique feel to it, special to its element. As each egg gets closer and closer to hatching the temperature rises and falls accordingly. For example, a crackled red and grey egg would become far warmer the closer to hatching it gets and at the time the shell starts to crack and break it would be piping hot and unable to be held or touched until the dragon is hatched.

Hatchling/Yearling

This is the youngest stage of a dragon, outside of the egg stage. A hatchling is just a baby under a year of age; they spend most of their time eating and sleeping, as well as playing though they are rather clumsy and ungainly at first. Rider's will be putting the most effort into care and chores for their new charges, oiling hides of smooth skinned dragons or checking and scrubbing scales. Riders would be bound to their Islands/Caverns to take care of their hatchlings and would be performing chores and spending the rest of the time strengthening their bond with the hatchling through various exercises.

Hatchlings begin to discover and learn magic, though they are still very inept at it. They can begin to form their breath weapons: fire dragons may expel smoke from their muzzles or begin to create small licks of flame as they become older  hatchlings.

Leveling up to a Young Adult

To have your hatchling become a young adult, we require three full body images of daily life, or three literature pieces of their daily life. We would like these to be detailed please. If you ever have any questions if an image counts, please note the group and someone will look over it for you!

Young Adult

At this point in the dragon's life they have almost tripled in size. Young adults can now fly fairly well, though they spend much of their second year training with sand bags and the like to build their muscles enough to allow them to carry their riders. Each month they can fly farther and farther, and generally into their third year exploring takes up a good deal of the rider and dragon pairs time, whether it is sanctioned or not by their elders. Dragons of this age are typically eager to constantly be on the wing and learn new tricks to impress their fellows.

Young adults are learning more about their breath weapons and magic: fire dragons can sustain a flame for several minutes when trying and they begin to learn other magics as well, though they are not as adept at these as they are becoming with their breath weapon.

Adult

Dragons reach adult size about four years of age, though some may take longer to grow. Dragons will continue to grow slowly through their life, but they are mentally mature and physically fit and capable when they reach adulthood. They can now fly away from the Island for days at a time, carrying their riders and extra weight as well, depending on the size of the dragon. These pairs are able to take missions or make their own way in Khalla if they so choose.

Adults will have begun to learn mid level and higher magics, depending on their age and proficiency with magic. Their magic prowess is really starting to grow, and they can continue to learn magic if they apply themselves or are very intuitive to the ebbs of magic in the world. A rider and dragon bond is also fully mature at this point.

Leveling Up To An Ancient

This status is still locked and not available yet

Ancient

Ancient dragons are the largest of all dragons, great in size but also knowledge of their world and magic. However, this does not mean they always care to share their knowledge or teach their magics. It is said that they can glide on the air currents for days at a time.

These dragons know a lot of magic, ever gaining in new magic and even creating new twists on known spells. If one needs to learn a certain spell, seeking out a rare ancient and earning the right will be quite the task, but well worth it.
