Dwarves

These are the short and stocky defenders of the Ghartem mountain fortress, they are often seen as stern and humorless. Many are known for mining the earth’s treasures and crafting exquisite items from ore and gemstones. They have unrivaled affinity for the bounties of the deep earth, Dwarves also have a tendency toward traditionalism and isolation.

Sub Types

Mountain Dwarves:

Unrivaled stone masons, and natural warriors, these dwarves work above land and expand their homes deep into the Ronketh Mountains. Mountain Dwarves are wider than the average dwarf; they’re shorter and stockier too. Mountain dwarves have made alliances with other races to better outfit themselves as well as their homes.

Deep Delver Dwarves:

Ancient cousins of Mountain Dwarves, the Deep Delver live deep underneath their surface dwelling brethren. Thinner, and taller, Deep Dwarves are the nimblest of dwarves. Their adaptations to squeeze through crevasses and navigate through tunnels make them experts at operating underground.

Elves

Tall, noble, and often haughty, elves are long-lived and are subtle masters of the wilderness. Elves once excelled in the arcane arts. In centuries past, they often used their intrinsic link to nature to forge new spells and create wondrous items that, like their creators, seem nearly impervious to the ravages of time. Now they are a private and often introverted race. Elves can give the impression they are indifferent to the plight of others, caring more for the world itself than the inhabitants of it.

Subtypes

Wood Elves:

Living high in the ancient treetops, the Wood Elves are druidic in nature. Slender and graceful, wood elves share characteristics of the wild they inhabit. Dark hair of browns and reds, with dark and tan skin. Wood elves can spend years tending one patch of woodland, treating it as a personal garden.

Dusk Elves:

Dusk elves are furtive, haunted, and suspicious. These elves restrict their emotions to a narrow range, showing little joy and less grief. Dusk elves value their privacy and guard their lands from trespassers. During private moments, they reflect on their nature, their people’s history, and exactly what they plan to accomplish. More confident than their relatives, Dusk Elves tend to look down on other races. Hair is typically black and skin pale as the moon.

Mountain Elves:

Mountain Elves are more hearty and have more girth than other elves; their natural grace traded for guile and persuasive talents instead. Their knowledge of emotions and cohesion is not a well known trait, but their knack as merchants to the Mountain races is where they gain their names.

Unfortunately, many outsiders see half-orcs as hopeless abominations devoid of civility, if not monsters unworthy of pity or parley. Respected by their parent races and shunned by others, Orcs view Half Orc with pride and loathing. Centaurs

Centaurs spend much of their early life learning their rich heritage from the elders of their tribe. The elders spend their time cultivating herd animals and gathering herbs and berries from their forest homes. This race has existed with complete equality for ages, and some might say that they are one of the only races who are truly symbiotic to nature. Never taking more than they need, and treating their habitat with utmost respect. Though pacifistic in nature, entire tribes from young to old will take up arms in defense of their homeland. Centaurs take extra time to tend to the wounded and bury the dead of their enemies as well as their own, believing that which came from nature must be returned to it.

Those centaurs which are born out in the wilderness would belong to tribes; each tribe is named after a tree and that tree would be a centaurs last name. This lets all know where they were born. One does not have to choose this life of a tribe centaur and you are more than welcome to have your centaur born else where, such as in a city. Tribes are most common.

Ifrits

Ifrits are a fickle races. They tend to enjoy moving from place to place, like that of wild fire, refusing to just settle somewhere and call it good. Slavery for ifrits can be mentally challenging as ifrits are not used to being bound in a single area. ifrits have a strong passion to fire, due to them being rumored born from flames, though they born like all races.

Ifrits are usually lawful neutral or chaotic neutral, with a few falling into true neutrality. Most ifrits lack the mindset to follow a god's teachings, and resent the strictures placed on them by organized faith. When ifrits do take to worship (usually venerating a fire-related deity), they prove to be zealous and devoted followers.

During the time of the Lava Lord, Ifirits began to split into, Royals and Slaves. Royals reaped the benefits of the Lava Lord, while lesser Ifirits soon became slaves to the Royal ifirits.
